Statement by Civil Society Organizations on the Selection of a Constitutional Court Justice

We call on Dr. Maciej Berek to withdraw his candidacy in the interest of the independence of the constitutional judiciary, and we call on the Sejm and its bodies to select a candidate who guarantees independence and apoliticality, and to ensure that the selection process takes place in a manner that ensures the gradual restoration of trust in the Constitutional Tribunal.
