Katarzyna Szymielewicz

Co-founder and president of Panoptykon. Oversees the strategy of the organizations and seeks for the new directions. Running the Panoptykon 4.0 podcast co-produced with TOK FM Radio. Ashoka Fellow since 2015. Formerly also a lawyer at Clifford Chance law firm and member of the Council of Digital Affairs for the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Graduate of Law (Warsaw University) and Development Studies (School of Oriental and African Studies).

Małgorzata Szumańska

Co-founder and vice-president of Panoptykon. Responsible for development and fundraising projects. Specializes in the social aspects of contemporary surveillance, mainly the surveillance as a trend and the influence of surveillance practices on society. Graduate of Law and Sociology at the University of Warsaw.

Anna Obem

Managing director and member of the board at Panoptykon. She manages the organization and, especially, its finances. Copywriter for selected communication activities. Previously, project coordinator at Ashoka – Innovators for the Public. Graduate of African Studies at the University of Warsaw.

Wojciech Klicki

Lawyer. In charge of monitoring of legislative works and advocacy in Poland. Prepares legal analyses and leads court cases, where he advicates i.a. for the supervision of the surveillance activity run by secret services in Poland. Co-host of the Panoptykon 4.0 podcast co-produces with the TOK FM Radio. Graduate of Law at the University of Warsaw.

Maria Wróblewska

Head of the communication team at Panoptykon. In charge of communication strategy and setting new communication goals. Until 2018 she worked in marketing agencies. Graduate of Ibero- and Ibero-American Studies at the University of Warsaw.

Justyna Dywańska

Panoptykon office coordinator. In charge of administration and logistics of Panoptykon's daily activity. Also engaged in fundraising activity. Previously active in theatre, as a co-founder of KONTRA/BANDA Foundation and co-creator of a village Festival of Hundred Arts. Graduate of the Artistic and Media Education at the University of Warsaw and Pedagogy at the Jagiellonian University.

Dorota Głowacka

Lawyer specializing in precedent court cases and advocacy, esp. in the area of freedom of speech on the Internet. In the years 2011-18 she run the Observatory of Media Freedom in Poland at the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. Graduate of Law (incl. doctoral studies) at the University of Lodz.

Aleksandra Iwańska

Communication assistant. In charge of various communication projects, analysis and taking care of contact databases. Student of Media Logistics at the University of Warsaw.

Dominika Chachuła

Communication specialist. In charge of implementation and evaluation of communication activity. Prior to Panoptykon, she coordinated projects in marketing agencies. Graduate of Polish Studies at the University of Lodz.

Rozalia Bielińska

Intern at Panoptykon's law department. Student of Law at the University of Warsaw. Vice President of the Law of New Technologies Student Association. She is interested in law in the context of technology development, including cybersecurity, AI, privacy.

Graduate of law and politology. She joined Panoptykon as a summer intern and stayed as a member of the team until she decided to pursue her academic carrier in Paris. From time to time she still contributes articles on surveillance in France to our website. She is interested especially in the problem of the state under pressure of fighting against terrorism. She represents a strong case of frankophilia.

Wojtek Bogusz
Wojtek has been providing digital information and communication protection and security support, consultantions and training to human rights defenders and activists on how to increase the privacy and freedom of communication in repressive environments. He currently works for the Dublin-based Front Line Defenders, an international foundation for the protection of human rights defenders. He is the co-author and project leader of Security in a Box – a toolkit of software and guides for improving computer security and privacy.

Since 2018 doctor for the Panoptykon IT equipment.

Piotr Chuchla
Graphic designer. Among other things, he created the logo of Digital Toolkit and a series of stickers (portfolio).

Michał „czesiek” Czyżewski
Haker. Panoptykon's admin until 2017. The ambassador of open source, cryptography and privacy on the Internet, member of Warsaw Hackerspace, on everyday basis works for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).

Urszula Dobrzańska
Linguistic editor, proof-reader and writing teacher cooperating with the Foundation since 2010 – also as author of the articles published on our webpage. From Panoptykon's broad range of topics she is interested especially in the relationship between the state and citizens. In her spare time she explores fictional evil worlds and refreshes her blog "O dystopiach" ("On dystopias").

Agata Foryciarz
Computer scientist, PhD student at Stanford University. Since 2019 guides us through the world of Articifial Intelligence. In her academic career, she focuses on machine learning algorithms especially in the context of biomedicine. She explores the problematic of Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency of algorithms (website).

Mateusz Godala
Start-uper, e-commerce expert. He started his career in adversiting to soon transfer to the world of start ups. For the past years he develops Polish export businesses. He supports Panoptykon's digital campaigning efforts.

Klaudia Grabowska
Activist engaged in opening publiccly funded resources. As a freelancer she creates and realizes projects combining human sciences and new technologies (she coordinated the GDPR Today campaign for Panoptykon). By education: historian (medieval studies), as researcher she is associated with the DIMPO group and focuses on digital skills among academics.

Grażyna Grzeszek
HR specialist and accountant. She has worked with Panoptykon since 2021. Loves dogs and bicycles.

Karolina Iwańska
Lawyer. Until 2022 she was the VIP of the Panoptykon expert team, specializing in advocacy regarding Internet platforms' regulation and Artificial Intelligence in the European Union. Recetly joined the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law.

Kasia Iwańska
Graphic designer, IT developer. Graduate of culture sciences, photography and graphics. She supported Panoptykon as a designer and illustrator – drawing, creating vidual identifications, designing publications and making data visualisations. She feeled for the privacy in the digital environment, open source and media and digital education.

Andrzej Jędrzejczak
Sociologist by education, marketing and PR specialist by occupation. He specializes in new technologies. Founder of the Głośniej Foundation supporting CSOs in communication. Co-creator of the varsovian blog Pańska Skórka, member of Servas, an organization promoting peace and understanding through travel and hosting. He support Panoptykon's efforts in the area of media communication.

Robert Krasnodębski
Accountant. He has worked with Panoptykon since 2014. He runs marathons.

Paweł Litwiński
Lawyer at Barta & Litwiński law firm, PhD at Legal Sciences specializing in data protection law, member of the Intellectual Property Rights at Allerhand Institute. He supports Panoptykon in court cases regarding access to public information and data protection.

Aleksandra Łuczak-Brydak
PR specialist. She specialises in consulting, strategic planning and management of B2B, B2G, and Employer Branding projects. For almost a decade she has been associated with the public sector in the area of economic diplomacy. Privately an enthusiast of design and the history of design. Author of the book Retro Advertising – behind the scenes of the Warsaw advertising business in the 19th century.

Małgorzata Mączka-Pacholak
Advocate at Pietrzak Sidor & Co. Deputy Chairwoman of the Human Rights Commission of the Polish Bar Council. She is an expert on criminal law and cases concerning the protection of human rights, including but not limited to proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. She represents us in our case on surveillance submitted to the ECHR and other cases against Police and Secret Services regarding the access to public information.

Izabela Meyza
Journalist and informal education coach. Graduate of the cultural studies and Coach School STOP. She cooperates i.a. with Centre for Citizenship Education and Forum for Dialog Among Nations. Izabela is an author of the scenarios of lessons for children in Panoptykon’s educational project “Digital Toolkit” and the coach in BiNGO programme, supporting activists in building safe organizations.

Jędrzej Niklas
PhD in legal sciences. Jędrzej began his cooperation with Panoptykon in 2011, and as a team member he engaged in advocacy and research activity. Currently Research Associate, School of Journalism, Media and Culture, Cardiff University and a member of Data Justice Lab. He focuses on social fairness and nech technologies applied by public institutions.

Artur Pietryka
Lawyer at Wardynski & Co., expert supporting the Helsinki Human Rights Foundation (Strategic Litigation Programme, Monitoring of the legislative process in the scope of justice system), member of the Citizen Legislation Forum. He supports our cases against police and secret services regarding the access to public information.

Ewa Podogrodzka-Maruszkin
Attorney-at-law. She supports Panoptykon, among others, in relations with contractors. Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, majoring in law. Postgraduate in intellectual property law at the Jagiellonian University.

Jacek Rakiej
Graphic designer. BA in Cultural Studies. Interested in new technologies, digital humanism, and cybersecurity. Minimalist. Fan of thoughtful solutions. He supports Panoptykon in the area of infographics and motion design.

Marlena Sakowska-Baryła
PhD at Legal Sciences, lawyer, partner at Sakowska-Baryła, Czaplińska law firm. Editor-in-chief of „ABI Expert”, vice-president of the Association of Data Protection Practitioners, university lecturer. She supports us in the area of data protection law and information law, especially in relation to public sector. She applies her knowledge and experience in our struggle to execute the GDPR.

Jakub Sudra
Graphic designer, illustrator. Owner of Sudra Grafika studio, specilizing in visual identification of companies and events, illustrations, publishing, labels, and others. Among other things, he created animations for the 1% campaigns in 2018-20.

Karolina Szczepaniak
Law student and free-lance trainer. She joined Panoptykon for a short apprenticeship, but stayed much longer to lead mobilization efforts. Currently she works as a trainer. Karolina is interested in the social impact of contemporary surveillance, mainly in the context of the development of video monitoring and the limitations of our online freedoms and surveillance society's picture in pop culture.

Karolina Sztandar-Sztanderska
Critical sociologist, interested in everyday life of public institutions, inequalities in access to public services and – what brought her closer to Panoptykon Foundation – the use of information and surveillance technologies by the state. Together with Panoptykon team, she carried out research on consequences of profiling of the unemployed. In her PhD (recently defended in University of Warsaw and Sciences Po de Paris) she disputed administrative treatment of the unemployed in Poland.

Kamil Śliwowski
Animator and media education coach. He joined Panoptykon in 2014 for a while as a full-time team member. Earlier, since 2009, he supported Panoptykon activities connected with the Internet and new technologies in terms of trainings and expert knowledge. He is active in numerous CSOs, e.g. Coalition for Open Education, the Centre for Citizenship Education, the Digital Centre. He runs a service on open web resources.

Karolina Witowska-Ćirlić
Interdisciplinary artist and graphic designer. In her projects she mixes various techniques: drawing, design and installation. Creator of many art workshops and socio-cultural projects. Art therapy instructor, pedagogue with experience in working with young people and students. Fan of quick sketches and works in emotional tension. Author of humorous drawings – rusks. As a graphic designer she finds satisfaction in cooperation with non-governmental organizations and cultural institutions, creating comprehensive project identification. Specializes in logos, posters, illustrations, small publications. She ran a drawing and painting and illustration studio at the Social Academy of Sciences in Warsaw at the Faculty of Graphics and worked in primary and secondary schools. Recently she has been associated with the Guliwer Theatre.

Michał "rysiek" Woźniak
Hacktivist dealing with human rights in the digital era, advocate of free software, privacy and anonymousness on-line, co-organizer of social hackatons SocHack, member-founder of the Warsaw Hackerspace, member of Telecomix collective. On everyday basis takes care of the safe Internet in Icelandic ISNIC. Before, he was associated with the Mobile Technologies Laboratory BRAMA at the Polish University of Technology and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).

Maciej Zawadziński
Founder and CEO of two Wroclaw IT companies: Clearcode software house, specilizing in marketing and advertising technologies, and Piwik PRO platform, a data processing software created according to the privacy by design concept. Expert support in the area of new technologies, privacy, technical aspects of online tracking and business ethic.
