Katarzyna Szymielewicz*

Graduate of law and development studies. In Panoptykon from the very beginning: co-founder and president of the foundation – the driving force of the organization, overseeing the strategy, countless interactions with the surrounding world and seeking financing (its sources are still limited..). She is responsible for building relationships with the media and political decision-makers. The driving force of experimental projects in Panoptykon and leading writer. Katarzyna is interested in everything related to the surveillance society, but problems connected with the city space, the Internet and public security in particular.

Małgorzata Szumańska**

Lawyer and sociologist by education. Co-founder and vice-president of Panoptykon. She is co-responsible for the strategy and development of the organization. She is in charge of information activities (the website) and engages in educational activities and the work of the lawyers. She is mostly interested in the social aspects of contemporary surveillance, mainly the discourse regarding surveillance and the influence of surveillance practices (primarily various forms of video surveillance) on society.

Anna Obem**

Graduate of African studies. Joined Panoptykon in 2011 as the office manager, since 2017 – managing director. Her job is to make sure the organization is running smoothly on every day basis, but she also engages in education. She is driving force in introducing new solutions that improve work of the organization. Her interests focus on the problems of surveillance over foreigners and children.

Wojciech Klicki**

Graduate of the faculty of law, ealier associated with the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. In Panoptykon – since January 2012. The head and heart of the legal team. He is responsible for the monitoring of legislative works in the Polish parliament and the preparation of legal analyses. He engages in advocacy activities, talks with political decision-makers and the media. Wojciech's main interest is surveillance exercised by the police and secret services.

Karolina Iwańska

Graduate of law at the Jagiellonian University. She got her first professional experience in legal firms and Stanczyk Foundation, fighting for transparency and citizen control of public life. She joined Panoptykon in 2017 and is interested in the problem of Internet surveillance, especially blocking and censorship exercised by public authorities and providers’ role in filtering Internet content.

Maria Wróblewska****

Graduate of Ibero- and Ibero-American Studies at Warsaw University, with background in marketing since 2010. After years in marketing agencies, she decided to join the better side. In Panoptykon, the leader of communication, especially in the social media. She learns to leave without cookies. She is interested in everything related to Internet freedom and ethics in advertising business.

Dorota Głowacka

Lawyer specializing in human rights in the context of media and new technologies. She seeks for balance between the right to privacy and freedom of expression. She re-joined Panoptykon in 2018 after a longer break to take lead in strategic litigation and push forward educational incentives among journalists. In the remaining free time she writes her PhD thesis about the right to be forgotten. Before re-joining Panoptykon she worked in the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in the Observatory of Media Freedom in Poland.

Justyna Dywańska

Graduate of the artistic and media education at Warsaw University. Since 2018 in charge of Panoptykon office and administration, with natural inclination to engage in educational activities. Justyna likes eating, dancing and making people happy. For years active in theatre, currently she explores various arts. Co-founder of KONTRA/BANDA Foundation, co-creator of a village Festival of Hundred Arts.

Weronika Adamska
Student of law and politology. She joined Panoptykon as a summer intern and stayed with us as a member of the team. She supports Panoptykon legal and research activities and administration. She is interested especially in the problem of the state under pressure of fighting against terrorism. She represents a strong case of frankophilia.

Marcin Antas
Historian by education, professionally engaged in planning and reporting. Marcin supports Panoptykon in the area of data analysis and visualisation in Tableau (public portfolio).

Wojtek Bogusz
For last 15 year Wojtek has been providing digital information and communication protection and security support, consultantions and training to human rights defenders and activists on how to increase the privacy and freedom of communication in repressive environments. He currently works for the Dublin-based Front Line Defenders, an international foundation for the protection of human rights defenders. He is the co-author and project leader of Security in a Box – a toolkit of software and guides for improving computer security and privacy.

Michał „czesiek” Czyżewski
Haker. Panoptykon's admin since 2013. The ambassador of open source, cryptography and privacy on the Internet, member of Warsaw Hackerspace, on everyday basis works for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).

Urszula Dobrzańska
Linguistic editor, proof-reader and writing teacher cooperating with the Foundation – also as author of the articles published on our webpage – since 2010. Enthusiast of the Panoptykon topics – she runs a blog "O dystopiach" ("On dystopias"). Graduate of the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University.

Kasia Iwańska
Graphic designer, IT developer. Graduate of culture sciences, photography and graphics. She supports Panoptykon as a designer and illustrator – drawing, creating vidual identifications, designing publications and making data visualisations. She feels for the privacy in the digital environment, open source and media and digital education.

Paweł Litwiński
Lawyer at Barta & Litwiński law firm, PhD in legal sciences specializing in data protection law, member of the Intellectual Property Rights at Allerhand Institute. He supports Panoptykon in court cases regarding access to public information and data protection.

Izabela Meyza
Journalist and informal education coach. Graduate of the cultural studies and Coach School STOP. She cooperates i.a. with Centre for Citizenship Education and Forum for Dialog Among Nations. Izabela is an author of the scenarios of lessons for children in Panoptykon’s educational project “Digital Toolkit” and the coach in BiNGO programme, supporting activists in building safe organizations.

Jędrzej Niklas
PhD in legal sciences. Jędrzej began his cooperation with Panoptykon in 2011, for years he monitoried legislation in the EU and engaged in our advocacy activities. Today he continues his research work at London School of Economics.

Artur Pietryka
Lawyer in his own law firm, expert in Helsinki Human Rights Foundation (Strategic Litigation Programme, Monitoring of the legislative process in the scope of justice system), member of the Citizen Legislation Forum, He supports our cases against police and secret services and regarding the access to public information.

Abdulkadir Furkan Şanlı
Abdul is a high-school student with a passion for ethics and personal freedoms, especially those of speech, privacy, and faith. He is interested in privacy movements worldwide, and also the Free Software movement. He constantly seek to improve his understanding of surveillance and tracking activities in the world around him and find methods and practices to protect his personal privacy. He joined Panoptykon as a volunteer to make internet research and write updates for our website.

Karolina Szczepaniak
Law student and free-lance trainer. She joined Panoptykon for a short apprenticeship, but stayed much longer to lead mobilization efforts. Currently she works as a trainer. Karolina is interested in the social impact of contemporary surveillance, mainly in the context of the development of video monitoring and the limitations of our online freedoms and surveillance society's picture in pop culture.

Karolina Sztandar-Sztanderska
Critical sociologist, interested in everyday life of public institutions, inequalities in access to public services and – what brought her closer to Panoptykon Foundation – the use of information and surveillance technologies by the state. Together with Panoptykon team, she carries out research on consequences of profiling of the unemployed. In her PhD (recently defended in University of Warsaw and Sciences Po de Paris) she disputed administrative treatment of the unemployed in Poland.

Kamil Śliwowski
Animator and media education coach. He joined Panoptykon in 2014 for a while as a full-time team member. Earlier, since 2009, he supported Panoptykon activities connected with the Internet and new technologies in terms of trainings and expert knowledge. He is active in numerous CSOs, e.g. Coalition for Open Education, the Centre for Citizenship Education, the Digital Centre. He runs a service on open web resources.

Michał "rysiek" Woźniak
Hacktivist dealing with human rights in the digital era, advocate of free software, privacy and anonymousness on-line, co-organizer of social hackatons SocHack, member-founder of the Warsaw Hackerspace, member of Telecomix collective. On everyday basis works for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). Since 2009 he has been offering his expert support for the Foundation's activities with regard to the Internet and new technologies. Formerly, technical manager at the Mobile Technologies Laboratory BRAMA at the Polish University of Technology and student of the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw. Former President of the Free and Open Source Software Foundation.
